Rishikesh, located in India's northern state of Uttrakhand, lies at the foothills of the Himalayas, alongside the sacred Ganges River. Rishikesh has a rich history, with sages and saints meditating here for centuries to attain higher knowledge.

The city is also renowned as the birthplace of Yoga and Meditation and drew the Beatles to its Chaurasi Kutiya Ashram in 1968 to practice transcendental meditation. In the evening, the cool breeze flows down the valley, ringing the bells of the shrines. Rishikesh offers a plethora of activities, such as visiting the Beatles ashram, white-water rafting, jungle safaris, camping, ayurvedic cooking and massage, trekking, exploring waterfalls, visiting temples and ashrams, and, of course, taking a dip in the holy Ganges River, which is believed to purify the soul completely.
